Number one with a bullet I'm a power pack,
Yes I'm,
In a bang,
With the gang,
They gotta catch me if they want me to hang."

Personality:
Tony is arrogant. He's egotistical and full of himself. Narcissistic and overconfident. A lot of this is because he's been right his whole life. He's a genius and he knows it. He's handsome and he's well aware of that fact. He describes himself as a "genius, billionaire, playboy". He pretty much just says what comes to his mind without regard for other's feelings and he isn't afraid to tell the biggest guy in the room that they're wrong when they are. He's talkative and personable, charismatic to a degree. His forward, mouthy, sarcastic, overconfident behaviour makes him come off as quite an asshole. People tend to love or hate him with not much in between.

On the other side of that, he does care about others, he just doesn't know how to show it. He's self-involved, but he will risk his life or even certain death for the sake of saving lives. He feels guilty over finding out his company was double dealing behind his back and that those weapons had been used to take so many lives. He wanted to atone even if he wasn't directly responsible. As much of a public figure as he is, it's probably hard to believe he isn't the best when it comes to dealing with people. He has few friends and many enemies, but he has a number of allies that tolerate him at best.

He's a bit eccentric with authority issues and a massive intellect to match his ego. But over the course of his Iron Man career and his blooming love with Pepper Potts, he's changed quite a bit for the better. He's gained some humility and he's learned to dial down his ego just a bit but nothing can really quiet his sass and sarcasm. He's grown more protective and understanding but he's still learning the proper way to show he cares. A giant bunny in the living room is not a good Christmas present, Tony.

He also has moderate to severe daddy issues. Howard was hardly around when he was growing up, focused more on his work than his son. The young Stark was mostly raised by their Butler, Edwin Jarvis. Part of his authority issues likely stem from this neglect. He grew up feeling as if Howard never truly loved him or even cared about him at all. His parents both passed were murdered when he was young, so there was never time for this relationship to be reconciled.

He's also highly impulsive and prone to making ludicrous decisions spur of the moment. The way his mind works through problems is interesting and gives little time to do more than act, which also makes team work a difficult thing for Tony as well. He's used to relying only on himself and JARVIS. He didn't immediately trust others to have his back and he has difficulty playing well with others. This all compiles into a very self-destructive nature. He acts without the consent of others and though his quick thinking does tend to work out in the end, it puts his teammates off a bit, earning him jabs from certain ones. He's also damn persistent. His determination is often the reason things work out his way in the end despite the odds.

He is a billionaire, and he has no problem reminding people of this fact, but at the same time, he doesn't mind spending it on others. He allows Pepper to buy her own birthday present on him without even asking for a price tag. He donated his entire art collection when he was sure he was dying and he repaid Harley for his help, even going a step further to deck out the entire garage in tech and cool gadgets for the kid. He pays for everything related to the Avengers and, as he puts it, "make everyone look cooler".

Tony still has a tendency to keep secrets and dwell on things by himself, though he's grown to accepting team work and incorporating it into his plans. Guilt plays a heavy hand in this on both sides while taking more responsibility than he really should for the way things play out or the consequences of his actions. Wanda saw this first hand and used it against him. He wants nothing more than to protect everyone and actually fears another alien invasion, knowing they aren't ready to defend against it.

He also doesn't deal with grief well. He deflects and tends to counter petulantly. When Steve brought up Coulson's death, he called the agent an idiot. Saying he shouldn't have taken Loki on alone and Steve calls him out on it.

For all his character flaws, he does have a decent heart in the end.

[He really doesn't care who he's talking to. Either way, it will get him attention and right now, he needs someone's attention to find out what the heck is going on and if he's the only one he knows around here. Making his presence known is just a thing for Tony and he's pretty sure someone wouldn't chuck him out in the middle of BFE with a communication device for no reason. He was also fairly certain that if they were handing out communication devices like candy bars linked to a narrow network, he wouldn't be the only one around that was misplaced. His assessment? They were mostly all victims here.]

Right. So I'm gonna skip ahead here a bit, past the take me to your leader phase and move right along to the more important points of this presentation.

[Stark narrows his eyes a fraction, the stern expression might actually seem intimidating to anyone who didn't know him well enough to know it was his bullshit face. With each point, he ticks them by adding a finger, counting his points.]

One: Where am I? Two: Who are you? Three: Do you know who I am? And now, [He holds up the hand, fingers splayed in a way that usually denotes yielding. After the pause, he returns to using that hand to count.] pay attention, because this is the most important question by far. Four: Where is the closest place I can find a cheeseburger? I'm famished.
