[Well, watch him mostly, but it could be fun.]

[He... wasn't so sure about this, but the kid had been a huge help.]

[Or maybe he'd just pop in sometime. Surprise, Tony, there's an egg at your door.]

I've been working on the suit. Got her all charged up and airtight again. Whenever you've got time, think you'd be up for a couple laps? I need to test some upgrades. I've had a lot of spare time lately which means lots of time to tweak the design.
no subject
I'm up for it any time, but are you sure you want to do the test run planetside? Gravity there is pretty unpredictable. [ He totally fell into a lady's arms at one point, it was very graceful. ]
no subject
Still. I can name a few people who would've left me there, and that even includes a surrogate father. So you're the real saint here.
Ohh, sounds interesting. Unpredictable gravity could be fun. Or we could even try a space run if that's something you can handle.

And any decent person would have tried to help. [ He really should stop there, but the way Tony made that remark seems so offhand that he can't let it lie. ] What do you mean, he would have left you?
no subject
[You can't see it, Clark, but he's grinning. He likes a good challenge.]
Left me, or driven another rebar through me for good measures. He tried to kill me. Three times, if we're counting, and all for money. His first attempt is actually what pushed me to build my first suit and clean up my act.
no subject
[ He's actually pretty excited about this. He's seen a lot of crazy things, but flying power armor. ]
That's horrible, Tony. I'm glad you were able to turn it into something good but - don't give him any credit for what you made of it.
no subject
[Can you hear the smirk in his text, Clark? He hopes you can.]
It happens. There's always a catalyst for amazing scientific discoveries. I wouldn't call it giving him credit, but it was the catalyst.
no subject
[ He'll match that smirk - but honestly? He would like to see someone like Tony surpass him with sheer inventiveness and daring. ]
It shouldn't happen. If it wasn't that, it would have been something else.
So what did you do? Cleaning up your act, I mean. [ He's mostly just curious about this. He doesn't know much about Tony's life - clearly. ]
no subject
[There's that part of him that will always talk big and always boast, but he knows somewhere in that head of his that he won't actually be able to hold up his end. He's okay with that. Now, if Clark were a robot and he lost a race to him? He'd be upset. Different standards.]
Maybe. Maybe not.
My guys were double-dealing behind my back. I put an end to my weapons manufacturing line. I tracked down as many of my stray weapons as I could and destroyed them. I mostly quit the party scene and put my mind and my money to work for a useful cause.
Now I fight terrorist organisations with a bunch of weirdos. It's kind of cathartic.

You do the best you can with what you have. I guess we're alike in that way.
It does sound nice though - working with a team. Probably a lot easier to control the collateral.

But of all the things she had learned since her arrival, this wasn't at all the most groundbreaking. Given Howard's record...well, it was only a matter of time before he had procreated.
She hated how unsure she was about reaching out, though. Would he even know her? She hoped her and Howard would stay friends through the years, but if there was one thing she had learned since she boarded this ship, she couldn't be sure of anything anymore.]
Is this Anthony Stark? Son of Howard Stark? [just. testing the waters first.]
voice;
[Something about her voice seems familiar, but he can't put a face to it. So, he decides to let FRIDAY analyse her audio and scan the network for a compatible match so he could bring up a picture. Yeah, needless to say, she didn't find a match. So he's doubly confused.]
voice;
[She pauses there, waiting to gauge his reaction before she continues.]
I'm afraid we haven't met yet. Or I haven't met you, at the very least. I'm a friend of your father's.
voice;
Yeah, I know who you are. [Is that... was that a break in his voice? Surely not. He'll clear his throat anyway.] So, you're another unfortunate victim of the Ingress? He was here, you know. Like, six months ago? Maybe less, I dunno, I was on ice for a while. I never told him who I was.
Anthony doesn't show up on the network tag, so who told you?
voice;
He was? I had no idea. [this is the first time she's hearing this and she's not sure how to feel about it.] What happened to him?
[why does she feel like she's going to be getting someone in trouble now?] I met Dr. Banner just after I arrived. He informed me of your presence here. Captain Rogers confirmed everything he told me.
voice;
[That's not to say he hasn't tried to figure it out.]
Ooooof course they did. I can't believe Bruce gave you my full first name. Traitor. He and I are going to have words. [He doesn't actually sound particularly upset. Just huffy.]
So, how're things, Aunt Peg--gy Carter. Agent Carter. [Nice save Tony... not. Just gonna move along and pretend it didn't happen.] I'm sure Rogers was thrilled to see you. Did you two catch up?
voice;
[Steve had told her what Tony was capable of, not that she was surprised. It only made sense for Howard's son to be just as skilled, if not more skilled, with technology.]
They both shared that you go by Tony. I just happen to like Anthony better. [this is her basically saying not to give Bruce or Steve a hard time.
And that was a terrible save, Tony.] We have, but don't change the subject-- did you just call me 'Aunt Peggy'?
[It's not unexpected news. To be completely honest, she would have been more surprised to know she hadn't been a part of Tony's life.]
voice;
Yeah, you always did. Fine. Anthony. Have at it. [He groused half heartedly. But if it rubs off onto the team calling him Anthony, you can believe he will get very vocal about it.]
I... might have? You'd pop in and out to visit dad and Jarvis. [Well, you know, before Howard sent him off to boarding school.] The 'aunt' thing. That was Jarvis' fault.
voice;
Somehow that doesn't surprise me. Mr. Jarvis would be the one to start such a thing. [It isn't hard to hear the hint of amusement in her voice. She's pleased by everything he's telling her, she really is.]
voice
Well, just in case Tony's already down there, Pepper sends him a message over the MID.]
Hey, Tony. I wanted to let you know, I'm planning on going into the prison to look for supplies.
